Every compelling novel is crafted around a handful of “big scenes,” and this workshop focuses on mastering techniques to help you build maximum power in your story’s pivotal scenes: the inciting incident, the reversals, the turning points, and the climax.
You’ll learn hands-on specifics of how to “turn” a scene around your characters’ desires and actions to yield the richest drama. Plus, an interactive session on “Making an Entrance” shows how to craft the most dynamic introductory scene for your protagonist.
Whether you’re a beginning writer, or stuck in the middle of your novel, or eager to get your manuscript into top shape to submit to publishers, this workshop will help you hone the all-important “big scenes” of your book. You’ll take home information that will enrich your writing and create the kind of compelling and marketable novel publishers want.
